The active ingredient in almost every Nail Polsih Remover is acetone, it has a very low vapor pressure and so it evaporates almost instantly from the surface to which it is applied. A better solvent for this task is Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK), it has a higher vapor pressure than the Acetone so it works on the Cyanoacrylate (super glue) for a longer period of time. If the countertop that you spilled the CA (Cyanoacrylate) on is a solid surface countertop like Corian you might have problems since it is another acrylic resin that could be dissolved by the MEK. For the sake of Saving possibly thousands of $'s, please, please, please test the MEK on an inconspicuos area first. If it dissolves the countertop material, follow the other suggestion and degrade the CA by placing a terry cloth rag over the top of the spill and pouring hot (not boiling) water over it. It will absorb water so all you need is a moist cloth using hot water and leave it on the glue for a long time, it will soften and lift off.

A hair dryer works well. It softens the glue whereby you can scrape it off pretty easy,then warm soapy water should do the trick.
keep it in hot soapy water even longer to get rid of the sticky...you can also try rubbing alcohol...either way you will probably have to scrub off some of the glue...i actually used a butter knife down the side the last time i needed to do that. good luck to you!

second, do nothing. make an appointment with another salon and stylist and have a professional decide what is best. for the health of your hair, you may have to have your hair cut. i am not sure, but i know acetone is bad for caucasian hair, so i would bet it is even worse for ethnic hair. don't mess with it - just get a professional to fix it. it might cost a bit, but it will be fixed the right way.

You're wise not putting acetone on your hair and scalp, you would most likely cause worse damage.

The easiest way to remove the button (that's what it is called) is to use direct heat from a propane torch. You have to avoid direct contact with the windshield, and just heat the button about 2 or 3 seconds, then use a pair of pliers and a twisting motion and see if it is loose. Heat and try again until the glue fails.
Here is a tip;

From what? Acetone will remove crazy or super Glue. It is the main ingredient in nail polish remover. But beware if it is on your hands or any body part DO NOT USE ACETONE! It burns like Napom. You can remove it with one of those scrapers you girls use on your feet. Soak the body part with Dawn and then work on it a little with the pumice stone.
Acetone also removes paint so be careful on painted surfaces. It's the main ingredient in paint remover. It can damage almost anything so be careful using it. Super glue does not cling well to porous surfaces and will usually come off with water in time. It tends to scab on porous surfaces. Depends what type of seat, if it is leather I would get some leather cleaner/conditioner and start working on it asap. If it a cloth seat I would use some acetone and then possibly have it steam cleaned to finish it off...

the only thing is that they look more profesional and neater and yes your nails get ruin! (they become weaker)its normal. abiously, they will grow healthy!. If you want to remove them with less harm for acrilic nails use a good nail polish remover and let your nails soak in it for a couple of min by doing this the acrilic becomes softer.
The chemicals of the nail glue weaken the bonds of protein that make up your nails, and when they dry up, your nails may also crack and fall off, dry. It is best to just let your nails grow and paint them, instead of artificially gluing.
Professional or at-home, either way extended wear of fake nails will cause damage to the real nails. The glue does not allow the natural nails to breath. I've been told by nail techs that you should give your nails a break several times a year for a couple of weeks, and go without fake nails.

the only thing is that they look more profesional and neater and yes your nails get ruin! (they become weaker)its normal. abiously, they will grow healthy!. If you want to remove them with less harm for acrilic nails use a good nail polish remover and let your nails soak in it for a couple of min by doing this the acrilic becomes softer.

You can get nail glue at any drug store that sells cosmetics, Target, or Wal Mart. If they don't have the nail glue by itself, you can by the fake nails and they all come with nail glue.
I guess you could also try using a hot glue gun. Since you're applying it to your nail and not your skin, it won't hurt (it's been on my nails before when I was working on a project). Also, hot glue peels of really easily when you scrape it off.
Don't use plumbing glue, you won't be able to take the fake nail off. Plumbing glue is meant to hold metal pipes together, not skin and nails.

i would go to a professional they have a solution that will kinda melt it off, what ever you do dont pick it of, ive done that and you loose layers of your nail and make them real weak and chip easier

the only time u need to glue it is when u cant pick up the board high enough to fit it into the groove. for instance lets say u are working towards a cabinet and your last piece is 4 inch under. you cant pick it up high enough to snap it into place much less get your fingers behind it to snap it in. dont try to get a molding bar and pop it in. get a small planer or a utility knife and shave off the lip on the board already down. place a small bit of wood glue in that seam, then the board will just slide into place and put a little masking tape to hold it overnight. oh and another good trick, when your putting your molding down, put weight where your about to nail and put pressure on the molding so its pressed down.if u dont and the molding is up so much, if u caulk it and alot of traffic goes over that spot it will stretch and need to be redone

We were hoping it was just held together by nails and we could simply paint over the damage but now it doesnt look like that is an option. Any suggestions? The fake nails your are describing are not made of acyrlic they are a resin plastic. THey will disolve and crack if you use acetone even non-acetone. Sorry but they are a temporary thing, throw aways and only mean to be used once, maybe twice. THe build up of glue will not come off. The only think I can think of is to use a professional electric nail file but then you still run the chance of filing them to thing or cracking them. Gluing them on yourself is economical but then again is it really. Treat yourself and go get then done professionally. You won't have to worry about them for 2-3 weeks before having them filled in. Also if you do, make sure you go to a reputable professional salon not the everyday run of the mill, on every street corner nail salon. If you do you'd be better off to glue them on yourself.

Are the tabs safe to use or do they make your nails thin too? I have to go to a wedding and I cut my long nails short without realizing that I had to go...I don't want to use the glue as I've heard some horror stories...What about the sticky tabs?

And if someone is in a place where they should be, are they there under Fake pretenses or FALSE pretenses..? One has a very harsh connotation to it, and versus a softer ';tone'; to the other.. Now to your inquiry..

On the back side of each false nail, there's a small indentation at the bottom (at least the ones I wear have) this is where you put the nail glue into, and not in huge quantities - then you apply a small dab ';mid nail...
THEN you let these sit for a minute or so... Next you apply the false nail to your own nail, and press into place and HOLD!!!!! Hold each and every nail you do for about a minute or even a bit more.. A job well done, should not be rushed...!!! If they're not sticking, you are rushing... And if you are getting glue on your skin, that indicates again, rushing, and using far too much....
Basically false nail glue comes in one strength ONLY!!!! But the end result comes about you're learning, and not rushing, and hopefully you are not buying ';cheap'; nails and cheap glue... Stay away from ';off shore'; products... You're throwing your money away if you buy cheap... A decent set of naiuls will run you probably around 10.00 and nail glue seperately around 5.00 a small tube..
