Need suggestions on how to get the glue under a lable on a plastic jar off. Nail polish remover didn't work.

I already soaked it in hot water %26amp; got the paper off and now it is sticky. The nail polish remover made it worse.Need suggestions on how to get the glue under a lable on a plastic jar off. Nail polish remover didn't work.
Spray it with some WD-40 spray, let is soak then scrape off. Re-wash it also.:)Need suggestions on how to get the glue under a lable on a plastic jar off. Nail polish remover didn't work.
Try either rubbing alcohol OR any oil- cooking oil or wd-40.
Hi. Use the product ';Goofoff';. It is wonderful and a little goes along way.
GOO GONE best product ever. it will take care of labels sticky ones and another 100 other things around the house, garage office or where ever.
A hair dryer works well. It softens the glue whereby you can scrape it off pretty easy, then warm soapy water should do the trick.
keep it in hot soapy water even longer to get rid of the sticky...you can also try rubbing alcohol...either way you will probably have to scrub off some of the glue...i actually used a butter knife down the side the last time i needed to do that. good luck to you!
There are orange- and citrus-based glue, grease, and guck removers/cleaners on the market which are very handy. I don't know what the names would be in the U.S.; there's one made by Saratoga over here called ';Out!'; (or the latest version: ';Out 2';). It's sold in hardware stores.

After removing the glue with the cleaner, I wash the jar in warm, soapy water to remove any residues.
